Chiropractic is a health care discipline, which emphasizes the inherent recuperative power of the body to heal itself without the use of drugs or surgery. The practice of chiropractic focuses on the relationship between structure (primarily the nervous system) and function (as coordinated by the nervous system) and how that relationship affects the preservation and restoration of health. In addition, Doctors of Chiropractic recognize the value and responsibility of working in cooperation with other health care practitioners when in the best interest of the patient.

The purpose of chiropractic is to optimize health.

The body's innate recuperative power is affected by and integrated through the nervous system.

The practice of chiropractic includes:

What does it treat, and how effective is it?

The common feature shared by all the different types of acupuncture is using needles to make lesions in soft tissue (acupuncture). Needles and needle-induced lesions activate the built-in survival mechanisms that normalize homeostasis and promote self-healing. This process consists of two parts: central and peripheral. For the central mechanism needling and needle-induced lesions stimulate parts of the brain that activate the principal survival systems-the nervous, endocrine, immune, and cardio-vascular systems-and normalize the physiological activities of the whole body. In the case of the peripheral mechanism needling and the resulting lesions trigger physiological reactions around the needling sites that involve all four survival systems in desensitizing and repairing the damaged tissues. At the needling site, a cascade of survival reactions occurs, including the immune reaction, and we call this the local needling reaction. Thus acupuncture can be defined as a physiological therapy coordinated by the brain which responds to the stimulation of manual or electrical needling of peripheral sensory nerves. In relation to this definition, there is one concept that can not be overemphasized: that acupuncture does not treat any particular pathological symptom but normalizes physiological homeostasis and promotes self healing. Thus acupuncture, in terms of it's therapeutic mechanisms, is non-specific: acupuncture does not target any particular symptom or disease but treats the body as a whole. Understanding this nonspecific nature of acupuncture can provide an answer to puzzling question: what symptoms and diseases can it treat?

NAET is a synthesis of various medical disciplines such as allopathy, acupuncture, chiropractic, kinesiology and nutrition. Nambudripad's TestingTechniques utilizes Muscle Response Testing (MRT) which indicates the kinetic imbalance in the body caused by allergens. The NAET treatment stimulates pressure points along the spine from the neck to the sacrum while the patient is holding an allergen. After the treatment, a strong MRT indicates that the allergy has been removed. Specific acupressure points are then massaged or acupuncture needles may be inserted for 20 minutes to stabilize the treatment. The substance must then be completely avoided for 25 hours following the treatment for the best results. Allergens are treated and cleared one at a time in a specific sequence. Normally only one item is treated on a given day. In most cases one session is all that is required to eliminate an allergy if NAET is applied properly. Individuals who are highly sensitive may sometimes require additional treatments.

Nutritional Cleansing

Why purification? Toxins are in the foods you eat, the water you drink, and the air you breathe. You are probably aware of most environmental toxins: pesticides, heavy metals, chemicals, pollution, caffeine, and preservatives. But what you may not realize is how our bodies produce natural toxins, such as ammonia and carbon dioxide, which linger in the body if they can't be broken down. The liver, lymphatic system(related to the immune system), kidneys, lungs, intestines, blood, and skin filter these toxins from your body. When overloaded, your body becomes inefficient and toxins can build up. Purification is merely the internal cleansing and detoxification of your body. Think of it as a "spring cleaning" for your insides.

It requires making new, healthier choices for yourself. You'll learn to refrain from eating fast foods, processed convenience foods, and sugar-laden snacks, which place an unnecessary load on your body. Instead you'll learn to turn to whole, unprocessed, preservative-free foods,, lots of pure spring water, tasty shakes, and whole food supplements..

This Purification program is directed by our doctor, and is designed to help your cleanse our body of its toxic load over a 3 week program.

What is Cold Laser Therapy?

Cold Laser Therapy delivers specific light energy in the form of photons, to damaged cells in order to increase blood flow and stimulate natural physiological activities.

How does it work?

Cold Laser Therapy increases blood supply and ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate) production, which is the "gas" that runs the body. ATP activates and promotes the body's own natural healing processes. This can accelerate the healing of damaged tissues, aides in the reduction of pain and inflammation increasing joint mobility and promoting a healthy cell metabolism.

How long does each treatment take?

The typical treatment duration is 5-15 minutes depending on the size of the area being treated and the condition being treated.

How often should the area be treated?

This depends on the nature of the condition being treated. For some acute conditions, 1-6 treatments may suffice. Those of a more chronic nature may require 10-15 treatments. Conditions such as severe arthritis may require ongoing periodic care to control pain.

How long before the results are felt?

You may feel improvement in your condition (usually pain reduction) after the very first treatment. Sometimes you will not feel improvement for a number of treatments. This does not mean that nothing is happening. Each treatment is cumulative and results are often felt after 3-4 sessions.

What is Kinesiology Taping?

This is a specialized form of tape with an additional elastic component to the backing that is applied to targeted areas of the body where injury to the soft tissues or instability has occurred.

How does it work?

Sections or pieces of tape are cut or pre-cut for specific body parts and then applied to control and help stabilize motion within a specific joint or muscle group. This allows for controlled function to occur while supporting the muscles, tendons and ligaments under the tape and helps to restore normal movement and activity within the targeted joint or muscle group.

What does Taping feel like?

Results can vary based on the areas involved, the type of tape that is used and the amount or intensity of movement/exercise that the patient is involved in. Applications can be made for one specific event or exercise program, or can be applied for as long as four to five days, depending on the application.
